Who we are
Playbook Terminal ("Playbook Terminal", "we", "us") provides a market-analysis tool delivered on the web, iOS and Android. For the purposes of UK and EU data-protection law, we are the data controller for the personal data described below. You can reach us about privacy at hello@playbookterminal.com.
If you operate Playbook Terminal through a registered company, add your legal business name and registered address here so users can identify the controller.
What we collect
Information you give us
- Email address — used to create your account and to send you a secure "magic link" to sign in. We don't ask for or store a password.
- Subscription status — your plan tier (Basic, Plus or Pro) and trial status, so we know which modules to unlock.
- Anything you send us — for example the content of an email you send to our support address.
Information created as you use the app
- The instruments and playbooks you generate — the assets you select and the generated output, so we can display, re-open and rate-limit your playbooks.
- Usage and technical data — basic logs such as the time of a request, app version, device/browser type and approximate region derived from your IP, used to keep the service secure and working.
- Local timezone — detected by your device so event times display in your local time. This stays on your device and is used for display only.
We do not collect special-category data, and we don't ask for payment-card numbers directly — subscription payments are handled by the app stores and our subscription processor (see below).
Why we use it, and our legal basis
- To provide the service (sign-in, generating and displaying playbooks, managing your subscription) — on the basis of performing our contract with you.
- To keep the service secure and reliable (logging, fraud and abuse prevention, fixing bugs, enforcing usage limits) — on the basis of our legitimate interests in running a safe, stable product.
- To respond to you when you contact us — contract or legitimate interests, depending on the request.
- To meet legal obligations — where the law requires us to keep or disclose certain records.
Who we share it with
We use a small number of trusted service providers ("processors") who handle data only on our instructions:
- Supabase — authentication, database and backend hosting (stores your email, tier and generated playbooks).
- Vercel — hosting and delivery of the web app.
- Anthropic — the AI provider that generates the analytical text in each playbook. The instrument you select is sent to generate your playbook; we don't send your email or identity for this purpose.
- RevenueCat and the Apple App Store / Google Play — managing subscriptions and processing payments. Your card details are handled by the app stores, not by us.
- Market-data providers (such as our price and economic-calendar feeds) — these receive the instrument requested, not your personal data.
We may also disclose information if required by law, to enforce our terms, or to protect the rights, safety and security of our users or the service. We don't sell your personal data, and we don't share it with advertising networks.
International transfers
Some of our providers are based outside the UK/EEA. Where personal data is transferred internationally, we rely on appropriate safeguards — such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement, EU Standard Contractual Clauses or an adequacy decision — so your data stays protected to the same standard.
How long we keep it
We keep your account data for as long as your account is active. If you ask us to delete your account, we remove your personal data within a reasonable period, except where we're required to keep limited records for legal, security or accounting reasons. Technical logs are kept only as long as needed for security and troubleshooting.
Your rights
Under UK/EU data-protection law you have the right to: access the personal data we hold about you; ask us to correct it; ask us to delete it; restrict or object to certain processing; and request a copy in a portable format. You can also withdraw consent where we rely on it. To exercise any of these, email us at hello@playbookterminal.com. If you're in the UK you also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO); in the EU, to your local supervisory authority.
Children
Playbook Terminal is intended for adults and is not directed at anyone under 18. We don't knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal data, contact us and we'll remove it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we make material changes we'll update the date at the top of this page, and where appropriate we'll let you know in the app or by email.
